The mission of the FAPD is to practice the art and science of Pediatric Dentistry and promote optimal health care for infants, children, and persons with special health care needs. The FAPD advocates professional development and continued education of the health professions and remains a liaison to other health caregivers and the public.
The purpose of this Academy shall be: to bring the Pediatric Dentists of the state of Florida into one organization for the advancement of the science and art of Pediatric Dentistry*, to encourage, sponsor and advance the achievement of a high and ethical standard of practice, education and research in the art and science of all phases of dentistry for children, adolescents and the handicapped; and the continued education of the health professions and the public concerning recognized scientific advancements in the dental and general health of children.
Furthermore, to act in an advisory capacity to State and Local dental societies in matters pertaining to Pediatric Dentistry*.
To act as spokesperson for Florida Pediatric Dentists in legislative matters, third-party and publicly funded programs, publicity and public relations matters, and in matters pertaining to oral rehabilitation of handicapped children.
To support the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Southeastern Society of 36 Pediatric Dentistry.
