Course Description

Community water fluoridation has been a publicly debated issue for many years as the anti-fluoridation community has become more active and there been a vast amount of misinformation and myths about fluoride made popular by the media and online.  This course is designed to review fluoride and community water fluoridation.  We will discuss the process of adding or removing fluoride through the city councils. We will talk about the anti-fluoride movement, their strategies, players and misinformation presented in meetings and online.  Finally, we will discuss the conversations we as Pediatric Dentist can have with the parents of our patients regarding fluoride.
